Mangaluru, Jan 9: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Durga Vahini have called for the immediate arrest of Mansoor Ali, the MUDA commissioner, who is facing allegations of sexual harassment from a female staff member working in the MUDA office.

Shweta Adyapadi, the district convener of Durga Vahini, stated, “The woman has already filed a complaint with the city police commissioner, accusing Mansoor Ali of sexual, mental, and physical torture. Durga Vahini condemns the incident and demands the immediate arrest of Mansoor Ali. Failing which, a protest will be organized in front of the MUDA office.”

VHP provincial co-secretary Sharan Pumpwell also emphasized the urgency of Mansoor Ali's arrest and the need for appropriate legal action.

In contrast, Mansoor Ali asserted that the woman's complaint stems from a fear of losing her job and personal animosity. He visited the Urwa police station and provided his statement to the investigating officer on Monday.

Mansoor explained to the media, “During the general body meeting at the MUDA office on December 27, the woman inaccurately documented the details of the more than 100-page meeting. When I questioned her, she claimed it was impossible for her to write such a lengthy report. Consequently, I warned her to improve her work or face replacement. I informed the outsourcing company that had hired her about the issue. Out of vengeance, she has now filed a complaint against me.”
