CSC acquires AppLabs

Hyderabad, Sep 14 (IANS) Computer Sciences Corp. (CSC), a NYSE listed global leader in providing technology-enabled business solutions and services, has acquired AppLabs Technologies Private Limited for an undisclosed sum.

This was announced at a joint press conference here Wednesday by Brian Manning, president and managing director of CSC, and Sashi Reddy, founder and executive chairman of AppLabs.

CSC, based in Falls Church, Virginia, has bought 50 per cent stake from WestBridge, 40 per cent from promoters and 10 per cent from employees. Both companies, however, did not disclose the sum.

AppLabs brings a strong portfolio of emerging technologies, proprietary methodologies and tools, and a specialized sales force to CSC, which significantly enhances CSC's capabilities in application testing services as well as shortening time-to-market.

"As a pioneer in specialised testing services, AppLabs will strengthen CSC's portfolio of services that are offered to its customers," said Sashi Reddy, AppLabs founder and CEO.

He said 2,500 employees of AppLabs were delighted to be a part of the CSC family.

It was in 2001 that Sashi Reddy founded AppLabs with its headquarters in Hyderabad and offices in the US and United Kingdom.

CSC has approximately 93,000 employees and reported revenue of $16.2 billion for the 12 months ended July 1, 2011.
