Mangaluru, Jan 13: "The BJP state ministers are completely behind Congress; the way their ministers speak about chief minister Siddaramaiah is very bad. They do not understand that Ram is God even for us, but they fail to realize that Ram is for everyone. We believe that Ramayana is not just the achievements of Ram but also the contributions of Sita, Hanuman and every character. Hence, we do not want an angry Ram; we want a friendly Ram," said Nagendra Kumar, minister of youth and sports empowerment.

Addressing the media on Saturday January 13, Nagendra Kumar expressed that he came to Mangaluru to witness the Kambala fest. This is his first time visiting Mangaluru as a minister. He mentioned inspecting Mangala Stadium, providing suggestions, and expressing that the Yemmekere swimming pool should have been more extensive. He stated, "Mangaluru youth are giving more importance to athletics, so we have united everyone from the party to ensure no issues for the players."

He shared plans for a new ground and assured that Dakshina Kannada Congress is strong, anticipating active participation and victory in the upcoming 2024 elections.

When asked about measures for the Koraga and Jenu Koraga communities, Nagendra Kumar stated, "I am here to inspect the situation and see their lifestyle. Even in Mysuru, I stayed and assessed what people lacked and how their lives could be improved. Chief minister Siddaramaiah is doing great work for the Koraga community. Previously, they received food grains for up to 6 months, and since Siddaramaiah's tenure, they have been receiving free food grains for 12 months now." He emphasized the focus on improving housing and finding solutions to address tribal issues.

Responding to questions about JD(S) ministers joining Congress, he said, "Our deputy chief minister, D K Shivakumar, has made it clear that whoever comes to the Congress is welcomed and given a chance. Today, we did not discuss any political agenda; I came only for the Kambala event. However, I see a new trend where many ministers will pivot towards the Congress."
