Agartala, Sep 15: Rural Development and Self Employment Training (RUDSET) Institute, Ujire, Beltangady taluk of Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka, plays a key role in training both men and women in pursuing self employment enterprises in order to achieve self-sufficiency in life.
“Dr D Veerendra Heggade, chairman, RUDSET, has made great strides in easing unemployment, rural development, education, health, and religious spheres. RUDSET that was set up 29 years ago with the farsightedness of Dr Heggade in collaboration with Sri Dharmasthala Manjunateshwar Education Society, Syndicate Bank, and Canara Bank has been a significant institute in the nation. It’s indeed a great honour for Tripura to set up a branch of RUDSET in Agartala,” said Governor Dr D Y Patil.
He was speaking after inaugurating the 26th branch of RUDSET here on Wednesday September 14.
He said that the newly set-up RUDSET will be a boon to the youth in enhancing their entrepreneurial skills for self-employment.
Dr Heggade, in his presidential address, expressed happiness over both the union and Tripura government’s collaboration with RUDSET in empowering youth to pursue self-employment ventures. He also announced that the branches of RUDSET will be opened in Assam, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir shortly.
Tripura state rural development, forest and information technology minister Jitendra Choudhary, state rural development and Panchayat Raj special secretary J K Sinha, rural development departmental secretary Manish Kumar, union ministry of rural development department official S G S Pai, secretary project director Jagdish Singh, Syndicate Bank regional office Guwahati deputy general manager A C Das, United Bank of India regional office Agartala deputy general manager P Balachandran, National RUDSET Academy chief project co-ordinator K N Janardhan, and district officers were present on the dais.
