Islamabad, Sep 15 (IANS): At least 20 people were killed and over 50 injured Thursday when a suicide bomber blew himself up in northwest Pakistan, a media report said.
The bomber attacked a funeral ceremony in Lower Dir district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Xinhua reported.
The attack took place around 3 p.m. at a funeral ceremony held for a local elder in Jandol area, close to the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
The injured have been shifted to hospital, where officials said the toll could rise as many of the injured were in critical condition.
Both President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani have condemned the blast, the report said.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
