Kundapur: Crime prevention month programme held at MIT

Kundapur, Jan 19: A talk was organized as a part of the crime prevention month by the NSS Cell and Youth Red Cross unit of MIT Kundapura. Pawan Naik, PSI of Kundapur rural police station and PSI Nutan D E were present as the chief guests.

Speaking on the occasion Pawan Naik said, “The Crime Prevention Month is being celebrated to create awareness about crimes and the measures to be taken to prevent crimes from happening.” He also said it is better to ensure that crimes do not happen than to investigate after crimes are committed.  He told college students to join hands and follow traffic rules compulsorily.

Another guest Nutan gave more information about the effects of cybercrime. In the programme, the principal of the college, Dr Abdul Kareem, the vice-principal, Prof Melvin D’Souza, coordinator NSS Cell and Youth Red Cross unit professor Balanageshwar S, head of mechanical department and IQAC head, professor Thimmappa D S, staff and students were present. Professor Sushma Shetty compered the programme.
