Mangaluru, Jan 19: Child prodigy Ilaf Abdul Qadir, 8, of Kankanady, Mangaluru, has etched his name in the annals of Noble Book of World Records by executing an astounding 387 aerial punches within a span of 60 seconds.
This remarkable accomplishment took place during the Karate Carnival organised by the Shorin Ryu Karate Association at Samaja Mandir Moodabidri on January 13.
Ilaf Abdul Qadir is currently enrolled in the second grade at Presidency School, Mangaluru and is the son of couple Mohammed Mustafa Kannur and Asiya Juveria.
Ilaf Abdul Qadir embarked on his karate journey in 2023 with the ambitious goal of setting a world record at a young age. The prodigious talent has successfully achieved his objective with support and motivation from his parents. Ilaf is coached by Mohammed Nadeem, a certified coach of the World Karate Federation and the Shorin Ryu Karate Association.
Ilaf has previously showcased his martial arts prowess in various competitions. He secured the second place in Kumite at the 1st National Level Karate Competition and won the first place in two State Level Karate competitions.
