Mangaluru: One arrested for alleged sale of MDMA to college students, public

Mangaluru, Jan 20: In a significant operation, the crime detective squad of the city apprehended Tausif, also known as Tauchi (23), a resident of Bajal Nantoor, on charges of selling the narcotic drug MDMA. The arrest took place during an alleged drug transaction in an auto-rickshaw near Coelho Lane on S L Mathias Road at Falnir in the city on Thursday.

Tausif was reportedly attempting to sell the prohibited MDMA drug to college students and the general public when the police intervened and made the arrest.

The authorities seized nine grams of MDMA, valued at Rs 45,000, along with a digital weighing scale, a mobile phone, and the auto-rickshaw used for the illegal activity. The total estimated value of the confiscated items is Rs 1.55 lakh.

The operation was carried out by a team led by CCB inspector Shyam Sundar.
