Udupi: Pickup, scooter collision – Rider killed

Udupi, Jan 22: A scooter rider was killed as he was hit by a pick up vehicle near Nisarga Fresh Oil on Ambalpady junction service road close to Kinnimulky on the night of January 20.

Rakesh (27), a resident of Havanje is the deceased.

He had been to Katapady on some work and was returning home. After the collision Rakesh fell on the windshield of the Bolero and was thrown onto the road. The Bolero ran over him. He received severe injuries on his chest and face.

Though he was rushed to a private hospital nearby by social worker Vishu Shetty Ambalpadi and other locals, he had breathed his last by then.

A case in this connection is registered at the traffic police station.
