New Delhi, Sep 16 (IANS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged a demonstration Friday morning at central Delhi's Jantar Mantar, protesting the latest hike in petrol prices. Party leaders demanded immediate rollback of the hike.
"The UPA (United Progressive Alliance) only wants to make life difficult for the common man by raising the cost of essential commodities," said BJP's V.K. Malhotra, Leader of Opposition in the Delhi assembly.
Petrol prices were hiked Thursday, for the 10th time since June 2010, by Rs.3.14 a litre from Friday. "We demand an immediate rollback of this hike," Malhotra said.
