Mangaluru, Jan 22: St Agnes is among the virgin martyrs remembered during the canon of the mass. She is a patron saint of virgins, girls, and chastity. She was martyred at the young age of thirteen on January 21, 304 AD.
Agnes CBSE School, along with other institutions on the campus, commemorates this day annually. The school organized a meaningful prayer service and cultural program to honor the saint. Students performed a graceful prayer dance, welcome dance, and melodious song. They also enacted a tableau depicting the virtues of St. Agnes, followed by fusion dance. The students' performance was a blessed experience, and they also participated in the holy eucharistic celebration.
Anitha Patrao, a retired teacher of St Agnes School, was the chief guest and congratulated the students on their meaningful performance. She shared her knowledge and wisdom about this great martyr and stressed the importance of living a pure and contented life by following St Agnes's virtues.
The event was well-coordinated by teachers Mishal, Amitha, Violet, and Keerthana and students from grades I, III, and IX. Tamryn Mantraj and Skandaa hosted the program, and Vival Gracia Pinto welcomed the gathering. The vote of thanks was given by Rianza Rodrigues, thanking everyone for their wonderful participation.
The school management is grateful for the great service provided by all in the school following the virtues of St Agnes and wishes them success in the future.
