Karkala: Kundeshwara Award bestowed upon Yakshagana artiste Rakshith Padre

Karkala, Jan 27: Rakshit Padre, a Yakshagana artiste from Thenku Badaga Thittu, was honored with the Kundeshwar Samman award by the Kundeshwar temple at a culltural programme. The seer of Kemar Sandeepani Ashram, Isha Vittaldas Swamiji after presenting the award, emphasized the importance of recognizing the Almighty in the poor.

Rakshit Shetty Padre expressed that young artists should progress through stages with humility rather than pride. He appreciated Kundeshwar for identifying and honoring young artistes, noting that contemporary accolades often rely on influence.

"I completed my MSc while being an artist in the Hanjumagiri Mela. I am grateful for the support of T Sham Bhat, the owner of the Mela. I dedicate this award to my mother and my teachers Girish Navada, Lokesh, Deviprasad, and Sumangala Ratnaker," he added.

On the occasion of the fair in Sri Kundeshwar field of Hirgana, Yaksha drama Shvetakumar Charitari by Urva Sai Shakti Kala Balaga was performed.
On the same occasion, Sarath Kanangi of Sriguru Studio, who has made a special achievement in the field of photography, was honored with Kundeshwar Kalabhushan.

MLA V Sunil Kumar inaugurated the cultural program, with Mahaveera Kattada, the vice president of Hirgana Gram Panchayat, former president Santhosh Kumar Shetty, artiste Kadri Navaneet Shetty, and Ajekar Balakrishna Shetty in attendance.
