Dubai, Sep 18: UAE Amchigele Samaj successfully conducted a blood donation campaign at Al Wasl Hospital, Dubai on Friday September 16 from 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm. Enthusiastic donors poured in great numbers from various parts of UAE for this great cause.
Organisers welcomed the community members who voluntarily came in large numbers including prominent members of other associations who also volunteered to donate blood. The members along with hospital authorities were busy welcoming donors and filling up the required forms, examining blood samples and getting ready for the extraction of blood all with smiles on their faces. They were issued a ‘donor card’ exclusively as a proof of their support.
The campaign kicked off with Amchigele Samaj president Ajit Nayak himself donating with other members following him. Some of the other patriotic associations who have been willingly doing these types of blood donation campaigns are Karnataka Sangha Sharjah, Mogaveers UAE, Ramarajya Khsatriya Sangha UAE, Padmashali UAE, Kodagu and Dakshina Kannada Gowda Samaja Dubai, UAE Bunts and Billawas Dubai and Northern Emirates who have already recorded their names in the list of blood donors of India in UAE.
Amchigele Samaj’s blood donation campaign was given a boost with the support and participation of some of the prominent community leaders like Ganesh Rai Ex-President of Karnataka Sangha Sharjah, Vice President Yadav Kotian, Bala Salian, Vice-president of Mogaveers UAE, Sudhakar Alva and Vasu Shetty of UAE Bunts, Harish Kodi of Kodagu and Dakshina Kannada Gowda Samaja Dubai, Ravi B. Shettigar, President of Padmashali UAE, Satish Poojary of Billawas Dubai and Northern Emirates and Shodhan Prasad of Nama Tuluveru UAE. Also were Shubhakar Shettigar, Vinay of Namma T.V. Ashok Belman of Gulf Kannadiga and many other prominent various community members of Karnataka.
The programme under the leadership of Ajit Nayak, President of UAE Amchigele Samaj was also attended by Ex-President Ramachandra Hegde, Vice President Sudharshan Hegde, General Secretary Gopal Prabhu and co-ordinated by Rajiv Kamat – Treasurer, Sunil Shenoy - Joint Secretary, Pragati Shenoy - Joint Treasurer and Committee Members Geetha Nayak, Ganesh Bhat, Rekha Nayak, Sujir, Pradeep Kudva and Chandrakant Kini who came with some members from Abu Dhabi.
Organisers distributed fruits, juice and water to all the donors present during the campaign.
