Lucknow, Sep 18: Chief Minister Mayawati is on a letter writing spree. On Sunday she dispatched another letter to the Prime Minister (PM) Manmohan Singh seeking reservation to poor from upper caste. Earlier on Saturday she had written for reservation to Muslims in proportionate to their population.
The letter writing by Mayawati is aimed at coming assembly election in the state. To throw the ball in centre's court, CM Mayawati has written several letters to the centre.
Starting from a demand of Rs 80,000 crore as special package to the state soon after assuming power in the state, she has written letters which sought Bundelkhand package, Rahul's security cover, denial of protocol to central ministers etc.
The act has not gone down well with the opposition parties who rebuffed it as a means to divert attention and ruled it as an election gimmick. "It is nothing but an election stunt with defeat scaring at her face in the coming election she is looking for a face saving device," said UP Congress chief Dr Rita Bahuguna Joshi.
