M'lore: AJ Hospital & Research Centre to Hold Free Cardiac Check-up Camp for Children

Mangalore, Sep 19: As a part of centenary celebrations, AJ Hospital & Research Centre will conduct a free check-up camp for children with cardiac problems at AJ Hospital & Research Centre, here in its Out-Patient Department from October 3 to October 15 with a view to cater to a large number of children suffering from cardiac ailments and to create awareness among the parents about the cardiac diseases.

The camp participants will be offered free consultation and Echo. If the child requires further treatment, the same will be done at a concessional rate. Features of the camp are free.

Children known to have heart disease, recurrent respiratory infections, becoming blue on crying, have difficulty in breathing while playing with the following problems can avail the camp benefits.

A good number of infants / children with cardiac ailments from the Karnataka coastal region were getting referred to cardiac care centres in Bangalore or Chennai. There was no Interventional Pediatric Cardiologist available in the Karnataka coastal region and in many instances the parents either used to delay or forego the treatment because of the distance. With the addition of Interventional Pediatric Cardiology, the first of its kind in Coastal Karnataka, AJ Hospital & Research Centre is all set to treat children with cardiac diseases.
