Still No Idea About Gaddafi's Whereabouts: NTC

Tripoli, Sep 20 (IANS): Libya's National Transitional Council (NTC) has said it has still no information about the whereabouts of ousted leader Muammar Gaddafi, Xinhua reported.

Local media reports said NTC fighters were kept out of the southeastern town of Bani Walid by the remnant armed forces loyal to the former leader.

At a press conference in capital Tripoli Monday, NTC spokesman Ahmed Bani said there was no information whether Gaddafi was in Bani Walid or not.

After the ouster of Gaddafi following months of a NATO-led operation, the NTC has been recognised as the legitimate power in Libya by some 60 countries.

At an international conference on Libya recently held in Paris, world leaders agreed to release $15 billion in frozen Libyan assets for the country's interim authorities to help Libya return to normal life after months of violence.
