Udupi, Sep 20: The inaugural function of ‘Zephyr’, a student forum for the academic year 2011-12, was held recently at MIT auditorium.

The Chief Guest of the occasion, member of the Legislative Council of the government of Karnataka and deputy chairman of the Karnataka NRI forum Captain Ganesh Karnik, director of student affairs of Manipal University Dr Indira Bairy, co-ordinator Guru Prasad Rao and student president Shreyas Shetty inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.

The office bearers of the department of commerce took the oath administered by the chief guest who also distributed their badges to them.

Captain Ganesh Karnik in his inaugural address spoke about the corruption in the current scenario and also the challenges of managing money. He also highlighted the youth movement inspired by the iconic leader Anna Hazare.

Dr India Bairy gave the presidential address and emphasized about the discipline aspects.

Vikram Baliga, assistant professor from the department of commerce, Manipal University introduced the chief guest. Guru Prasad Rao, coordinator of the student forum welcomed the gathering. Vote of thanks was delivered by Caren Crasta, assistant professor, department of commerce, Manipal University.

All the students of BBM (e-Banking and Finance) and BBM(Financial Markets) were present.
