Udupi, Feb 6: NITTE Deemed to be University, in collaboration with WIPRO3D, proudly announces the inauguration of the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in digital manufacturing. The ceremony, held on February 5 at NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte, Udupi, was attended by esteemed dignitaries, including representatives from both institutions and industry leaders.
Esteemed dignitaries graced the ceremony, including Dr Ravi Kumar, professor at NIT-Warangal, Dr Praveen Kumar Shetty, director (R and D) at Nitte Deemed to be University, and Yathiraj Kasal, general manager and business head at Wipro3D, Bengaluru. Also, present were Dr Niranjan Chiplunkar, principal of NMAMIT, Nitte, Dr Srinivas Pai P, HOD, department of mechanical engineering, NMAMIT, Nitte and Dr Vijeesh V, associate director (R and D) Nitte off-campus centre, associate professor department of mechanical engineering, NMAMIT, Nitte.
The Centre of Excellence in Digital Manufacturing is poised to revolutionize the landscape of additive manufacturing, providing a cutting-edge platform for research, collaboration, and skill development. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and cutting-edge technology, the centre aims to push the boundaries of innovation in digital manufacturing processes and techniques.
As part of the inauguration, the centre unveiled two advanced machines: the Wipro3D Fused Deposition Modelling F300-2 and the digital lithography processing ELEGOO Mercury Plus. These machines represent the latest advancements in digital manufacturing technology and will serve as essential tools for research and development within the centre.
Post inauguration of the CoE, the dignitaries inaugurated a five-day faculty development utilizing the facilities in CoE on ‘Strategies for Enhancing Surface Integrity, Mechanical Properties, and Minimizing Residual Stress in Additively Manufactured Components’ sponsored by National Centre for Additive Manufacturing (NCAM) under purview of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India.
