Mangalore: Rains Subside in Coast

Mangalore, Sep 21: Coastal Karnataka largely enjoyed dry weather on Tuesday September 20 but for short spells of drizzle. Even though temperature went up during the day, the rain that poured on Tuesday night provided some respite.

Bangalore and Madhugiri registered the highest rain of six cm each in the state. The coastal belt accounted for one to two cm rain on an average. Puttur, Bantwal and Mangalore taluks received some rains in the afternoon, while Manipal and surroudning places experienced rain coupled with thunder in the morning. Some places in Karkala taluk too experienced thundershowers.

The meteorological department has predicted some rains in the coast and southern hinterland and light drizzle in a couple of places in northern hinterland, during the period till Thursday morning.
