Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Feb 9: Bajpe police apprehended Mohammed Sharif (23), a resident of the Paper Mill vicinity in Pranthya village of Moodbidri, and Hasainar (28), residing near the Madrasa in Thodar village, along with their car on Thursday February 8. They were accused of stealing hundreds of cows from Karkala, Ajekaru, Bajegoli, Kervase, and Thirthahalli, utilizing fake number plates on their vehicle.

Hasainar, one of the accused, has previous cases of cow theft and sheet theft registered against him at Bajpe police station. On Thursday, the station inspector of Bajpe police station, Sandeep, received a tip-off about a suspicious white car roaming around Mucchhur cross in the morning. PSI Revanasiddappa and personnel intercepted the car near Mucchhur cross, close to Edapadavu village. While one suspect managed to escape, two were apprehended by the police.

Upon interrogation, the arrested individuals confessed to stealing two cows and one calf from a cow shed in Tiplabettu of Yedapadavu village. They admitted to selling the stolen cows to Ansar of Thodar. The white Hyundai car, valued at Rs 5 lac, was confiscated from the accused. The stolen cows belonged to Sujata, a resident of Tippebettu in Badaga Yedapadavu village. A case related to this incident was filed at Bajpe police station.

This is just failure of their Leaders & nothing else. Their uncles, relatives all live close by in the same locality of these theves, when they get up in the morning, they can find cows / calves in their yard tied to the tree, none of them (senior member of the family) questioned the youngsters from where you got these in the middle of the night? why are you steeling? why don't you work hard? Moreover, one good sermon from religious leaders addressing this issue would have stopped this menace long time back but no one is interested.

@Rajesh ..every word what you mentioned here is correct. One acquaintance three years ago narrated a real incident that these thieves stole his milking cow at 2am. Upon hearing cry of his cow he woke up and went to the cowshed but by then cow was in their hand and they showed knife at him. So he called police and with police he went behind them. Upon reaching the spot the cow has been murdered in front of his eyes and they questioned him where is the proof. He being man cried in tears. Since then i stopped eating beef.
