Beltangady, Feb 12: Tragedy struck near Seetu-Ambadtyaru on the Mangaluru-Villupuram national highway (NH), under Mundaje village, as a driver lost control of his car, leading to a collision with a tree. Sridhara Sanna Ninganavar, a native of Haveri in Ranebennur taluk, was fatally injured in the accident.

Sridhara, who was traveling from Beltangady to Kottigehara, suffered serious injuries upon impact and was rushed to Ujire hospital for treatment. Despite receiving first aid, his condition deteriorated, and he was being transferred to Beltangady government hospital when he tragically succumbed to his injuries en route.

Fortunately, Manoj Kumar, another occupant of the car, escaped unscathed, while his mother, Regina Glory, and sister, Prarthana, sustained injuries and were admitted to Ujire private hospital. It is learnt that they are out of danger.

A case is filed in Beltangady police station.
