Lucknow, Sep 22 (IANS): The bodies of three unidentified people, including a woman, were found near a town in Uttar Pradesh's Sitapur district Thursday, triggering panic among the locals. According to police, the three have been murdered.
The bodies recovered from the fields in Ariya town were first noticed by some passers-by.
"The three deceased - two men and a woman - are 20-25 years old. All of them have injury marks on their necks that indicates they have been strangulated," police inspector P.C. Saroj told reporters in Sitapur, some 80 km from Lucknow.
According to police, it appears the three were killed somewhere else, and their bodies were dumped in the fields later.
"We have sent our officials in different villages of Sitapur and its adjoining districts to find out their identity. The three bodies have been sent for autopsy," added Saroj.
