Mangaluru, Feb 14: The Founders Day and College Day of Srinivas University and Srinivas Group of Colleges was held at the Srinivas University Mukka campus on Wednesday, February 14.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest of the programme, zonal manager of Bank of Maharashtra, Sucheth Marigio D'Souza stated that Srinivas University significantly contributes to the education sector by offering the latest courses and facilities, thereby empowering individuals to seek knowledge from diverse sources and fostering positive thinking, paralleling the valuable contribution of the banking sector to society's economic advancement.
Dr U T Iftikhar Ali, syndicate member of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bengaluru, delivered the Founders Day address and noted that this college started with 100 students and has now reached 14,000 students. He congratulated the honourable chancellor and pro chancellor of Srinivas University for their contribution to the field of education.
Honourable chancellor of Srinivas University and president of A Shama Rao Foundation Mangaluru, Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, emphasized in his presidential address that today's achievers have mostly spent their lives serving society. He expressed happiness in finding and awarding them, highlighting the importance of skill development for societal development. The university, he assured, will always provide all facilities to bring out the talents in students and encourage them to achieve in life.
Srinivas University Board of Governors Trustee member, A Vijayalakshmi R Rao, suggested students’ study well, achieve in their lives, and take care of their parents.

Srinivas University and Srinivas Group of Colleges felicitated the achievers with awards on the occasion of Founders Day from different fields. The A. Shama Rao Foundation recognized the contribution of teachers at the high school and PU college levels in the undivided Dakshina Kannada district. Dr Prasanna Kumar Aithal (lecturer in Sanskrit, SDM PU College, Ujire) and Ravi Alevooraya Varkady were awarded the A Shama Rao Memorial Outstanding Teacher Award – 2024 for their contribution to education in the undivided Dakshina Kannada district.
Sulochana V Bhat (Noopura Dance School Teacher) was awarded the A Shama Rao Memorial Outstanding Achievement Award 2024 for her contribution to the field of Fine Arts (Nrithya). Vidwan Panja Bhaskar Bhat was awarded the A Shama Rao Memorial Outstanding Achievement Award 2024 for his contribution to the field of Pourohithya & Astrology.
Damodar Acharya was awarded the A Shama Rao Memorial Outstanding Achievement Award 2024 for his contribution to the field of Photography. Sri. Vasudeva Idyodi was awarded the A Shama Rao Memorial Outstanding Achievement Award 2024 for his contribution to the field of Social Service. Vidwan Rajesh Rao Baglodi (Flutist) was awarded the A Shama Rao Memorial Outstanding Achievement Award 2024 for his contribution to the field of Fine Arts – Instrumental Music.
