Kadaba: Miraculous escape for primary school students as classroom roof collapses

Daijiworld Media Network – Kadaba (MS)

Kadaba, Feb 16: A potentially tragic incident was narrowly avoided at Bobbekeri Government Higher Primary School in the taluk, as the roof of a classroom collapsed on February 15

Fortunately, the LKG students who would have been inside the classroom at the time were outside, thus avoiding any casualties. However, parents are understandably furious about the incident and are demanding action against the responsible government authorities.

Despite appeals made during the Grama Vastavya programme held recently at Dolpadi and numerous pleas sent to education department officials and public representatives, no steps have been taken to repair the damaged school building and roof.

The president of the School Development and Monitoring Committee (SDMC) at Bobbekeri, Theerthakumar Paika, expressed concern over the lack of initiative in addressing the issue. He urged authorities to release funds promptly and prioritize the development and safety of the school to ensure the well-being of the children.

These things will happen from time to time as public servants and politicians take things for granted for too long... Lucky that children escaped from the scene by providence... Public areas especially roads are going to be very risky during rains... Unscientific cutting of branches of huge trees is of major concern... Also several places electric poles are taking additional loads of newer connections and will reach a point of fatigue... Old public buildings and bridges are better left as they are without saying anything... All concerned are busy politicking in the name of religion and communal ploys....
