Mangaluru, Feb 17: In a disturbing incident on Friday February 16 at Kolya on NH 66, a youth riding a bike was ambushed by two assailants who attempted to take his life. The Ullal police have apprehended the main accused in the case.

The victim, Mohammed Arif (29) from Kumpala, was targeted by two individuals identified as Muzammil and Nisar. Arif was en route from Kolya to Kumpala when the accused duo, traveling on a bike from the opposite direction, intercepted him. They subjected Arif to verbal abuse and attempted to physically assault him.

While Muzammil stabbed Arif, Nisar restrained him, preventing any chance of escape. Arif sustained a stab wound to his back but managed to break free from his attackers and flee to safety. He was then rushed to the hospital by local residents Shravan and Uttam, where he received medical attention for his serious injuries.

The police have apprehended the main accused, Muzammil, and are actively pursuing the second accused, Nisar.
