Sullia, Feb 20: A bike rider was killed as his two wheeler was hit by a KSRTC bus at Bilinele on Uppinangady-Subramanya state highway on Monday.
The deceased is identified as Vasudeva Gowda (52), a resident of Kombaru Manibanda Therebeedi. He used to work as a mechanic at Nettana.
The bus driver hit the bike in a bid to overtake another vehicle. Vasudeva who was grievously injured was admitted to hospital in Mangaluru but he succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased is survived by wife, two daughters, one son and four brothers.
Kadaba police have registered a case.
