Kasargod: Excise dept sleuths seize over one quintal ganja, arrest two

Kasargod, Feb 26: The excise department's special team conducted a raid and seized over one quintal of ganja from a pickup van in Perla.

Two men, identified as Shaneen Rahim (36) from Kumble Shantipalla and Sharif (32) from Perla Ammekkala, were arrested in connection with the incident.

The arrests occurred during a vehicle inspection on Sunday night, following specific information received by the authorities. Approximately 107 kg of ganja was discovered in the van during the inspection. Excise department officials revealed that the ganja, concealed within the vehicle, was being transported from Andhra Pradesh to Kerala via Bengaluru.

Further investigations into the matter are currently underway, as stated by the excise department officials.
