Mangaluru, Feb 27: The annual Mindspark science exhibition was once again successfully conducted at Manipal School, Mangaluru continuing its tradition of fostering scientific curiosity and environmental awareness among students.
Held in the month of February to coincide with national science day, the exhibition provided a platform for students to delve into various scientific topics, with a particular focus on environmental conservation and sustainability. The exhibition encompassed various activities, competitions and educational sessions catering to students from nursery to grade 11.
The central theme of the exhibition revolved around environmental conservation and sustainable practices. The students explored topics such as waste to energy, environmental protection, pollution solutions, smart farming techniques, urban forests, and human health along with ecological footprint reduction.
The students from grade 5 to grade 11 actively participated in competitions tailored to their respective levels. These competitions held on February 12, included drawing, model making, and seminars, allowing students to showcase their creativity and knowledge on environmental issues.
Additionally, Junior Mindspark conducted on February 17 engaged nursery to grade 4 students in drawing and experiments, encouraging their early interest in science and the environment.
Selected students from middle and high school had the opportunity to extend their learning beyond the school premises. They participated in competitions organized by Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) in association with Manipal School of Life Sciences (MSLS) on February 28. This collaboration provided students with a platform to demonstrate their expertise on a broader scale.
Moreover, grade 9 students underwent a residential training programme from February 22 to 27 at the School of Life Sciences, Manipal. This intensive programme enhanced their understanding of environmental sciences and equipped them with practical skills for addressing environmental challenges.
Overall, the Mindspark science exhibition provided a platform for students to showcase their creativity and knowledge while promoting awareness and understanding of environmental issues.
