Udupi, Feb 28: In a significant development aimed at fostering sports and nurturing talented sportspersons, Milagres College Kallianpur has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bengre Bulls-Radha Babu Kotian Foundation. The partnership aims to provide crucial support and resources to athletes for their sports endeavours.

The MoU signing ceremony, held at Milagres College, Kallianpur marked a pivotal moment in the collaboration between the educational institution and the renowned NGO. The Bengre Bulls-Radha Babu Kotian Foundation pledges an annual donation of Rs 5 lac towards sports activities at Milagres College, Kallianpur.

On the occasion Dr Anasuya, president Bengre Bulls - Radha Babu Kotian Foundation Deepthi, vice-president Raj Bengre, alumni Dr Vicnent Alva, Principal, Milagres College Kallianpur Sophia Dias, vice-principal Dr Jayaram Shettigar, IQAC coordinator were present on the dais.

Principal Dr Vincent Alva and president of Bengre Bulls - Radha Babu Kotian foundation Dr Anasuya signed the MoU.

Speaking on the occasion, Raj Bengre, Alumni and NGO promoter said "A lot of efforts has gone behind this contribution. Once a champion always a champion. Never give up the attitude of a sportsmanship. You may fail but wake up and try again. There is no shortcut to success. Champions are born within them. You need will and skill to become champion. Practice makes once perfect. Be humble and be grounded. It takes just a minute to fall down. Thank people who supported you and be humble towards them. We are here to support you because this college has supported me in my sports career. You are studying in a prestigious A+ grade college for which you have to be very grateful to."

Dr Vincent Alva, principal in his address to the students said, "We have signed MoUs with different organizations and institutions for different purposes. But this MoU stands as a special one as we sign this with one of our alumni.  Champions are not made in a day. Usain Bolt created a world record by running for just 100 seconds, but for those 100 seconds he practiced for more than 21 years. The main thing our sportspersons lack is discipline. You will receive the support against your performance. If performance decreases the support will also decrease. Practicing also makes matters for a sportsperson. Hours of practice have to be put in to be in the team. Once a sportsman, always a sportsman and all the time. I insist our students start regular practice. I am grateful to Bengre Bulls-Radha Babhu foundation for initiating this project."

'Miracles 2023' college annual magazine was also released on the occasion. A laptop donated by the Lions district 317C for a needy student was also handed over on the occasion by the dignitaries.

Sophia Dias, vice principal presented the objectives of the MoU. Principal Dr Vincent Alva read the MoU.

Jayaram Shettigar, IQAC coordinator welcomed the gathering. Faculty Chaithra proposed the vote of thanks. Prathima compered the programme.  Saritha Alva, project coordinator, Saroja and others were present on the occasion.
