Moodbidri, Feb 28: Carmel school, Moodbidri gathered for a momentous occasion to celebrate World Thinking Day, a day that encourages introspection on the power of our thoughts and the values guiding our actions. A moment of quiet reflection, guidance and unity was commenced through a heartfelt prayers led by students invoking the untold blessings of God upon everyone.
Prakash, a member of the local association and Woodbatch holder, Alvas High school was the chief guest for the program.Anshul of grade 6A extended a warm welcome to all, setting the tone for the day. Sr Gracilda AC, the principal welcomed the chief guest with a potted sapling.
Sr Elena AC, the administrator, Sr Rosy and Sr Ranitha the coordinators graced the occasion with their auspicious presence. This was followed by a captivating welcome dance performed by the talented Bulbul wing, reminding all to embrace each new day with a smile. The Sarvadharma prayer, led by the four units and their group leaders, along with their group unit teacher representative, was the highlight of the programme. Riona Pearl and Sudhanshu of grade 7B elucidated on the significance of World Thinking Day, shedding light on its importance in the hearts of scouts and guides worldwide. They emphasized the values of integrity, service, and compassion inspired by Lord and Lady Baden-Powell. The students further enlightened all by presenting the timeless scout and guide laws, emphasizing the principles that continue to inspire millions globally.
The vibrant performance by the cub and bulbul wing showcased the universality of dance, reminding that joy knows no barriers. Their talent was truly a delightful addition to the celebration.
Discipline's importance was eloquently conveyed through a meaningful mime show by the students of the scouts. Their performance urged to cultivate discipline in thoughts and actions for success in all aspects of life. Prakash, the chief guest, emphasized in his speech the significance of students joining the four units, highlighting their role in instilling discipline and fostering overall development in their lives.
Sr Gracilda AC in her address emphasised, "In the pursuit of 'Our World Thriving for Future,' let us stand ready, unwavering in our commitment to always do our best." She also told to reflect on the qualities of four units. She reminded that discipline is not just a virtue; it is the very bedrock upon which the grand edifice of success is built.
Students who participated in the English Silverzone Olympiad received medals and certificates, while The Hindu Young Quiz winners were also honored; additionally, those who successfully cleared the Dwitiya Sopana Examinations from grades 9A and B were presented with certificates.
Expressing gratitude is essential, Dhruvi Roopa of grade 7 did so eloquently in the vote of thanks. She thanked all who contributed to making this day memorable, wrapping up the event with a quote by William Arthur Ward. Ayush Anchan of grade 6 beautifully compered the whole programme.
This celebration carried the spirit of unity and understanding forward, continuing to grow and learn together. The World Thinking Day celebration was a remarkable and enriching experience for everyone present.
