Chennai, Sep 27 (IANS): The premises of former DMK minister K. Ponmudi, who has been arrested on land grab charges, were raided in Tamil Nadu Tuesday along with those of his associates, officials said.
The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption unit conducted the raids in Chennai, Villupuram and Tiruchirapalli.
Searches were conducted at 15 premises, seven of which are here, vigilance officials told IANS.
Ponmudi's residence was raided as was his son's residence and office, officials said. The former higher education minister was arrested Aug 31.
Three premises of his son's father-in-law were also raided.
The residence of Nizamudeen, a close friend of Ponmudi, was searched, officials said.
Ponmudi's Siga Educational Trust allegedly took over the land allotted for the employees of state transport corporation.
