B'luru cafe blast: Dig out truth, initiate action on spreading false news, CM tells officials

Bengaluru, March 3 (IANS): Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday directed top officials to "dig out the complete truth" in connection with the low-intensity IED blast at the Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru on Friday noon in which 10 people sustained injuries.

Addressing top officials of the state Home Ministry at a high-level meeting in Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru, CM Siddaramaiah asked the officers to utilise technology effectively and to suppress attempts to misguide people by spreading false news on social media, an official said.

CM Siddaramaiah directed officials to identify the crowded places and increase the patrolling to ensure protection for the people.

He also directed to expedite the investigation into the blast case and to initiate action against the false news being spread on social media to misguide people.

"The Intelligence department must be vigilant and action must be taken against anti-social elements without mercy who spread false news on social media," Siddaramaiah said.

"A separate meeting with the police department will be held in this regard. We have to change according to the times and act swiftly," he added.

Minister for RDPR, IT and BT Priyank Kharge, Home Minister G. Parameshwara, Bengaluru Police Commissioner B. Dayanand and other top officials were present in the meeting.

The Agencies must also look at the possibility of anti Karnataka Government activists as a possible threat. Because, they do not want to see this government succeed and complete its terms. Looking at MP, Rajastan, Himachal, Bengal.... there are more unwanted activities happening and this must be stopped for the good of our Country.

I totally agree with you Mr.Alphonso I was also thinking the same. Why this type of things happen only in opposition rule states only? there is no trouble or blast in BJP rule states, Why? They just have one thing in there state, Rape. I still remember Mumbai Blast when Congress was doing good in Mumbai, one fine day a trouble came all the way from Gujarat to take a revenge on all good officers. I think government should stop all protest and rallies because the culprits are with this gathering.

Court must issue instructions to everyone not to make any statements when the probe is going on. Wheather members from ruling party or opposition nobody give any statement or ccomments. In WhatsApp also Police must check random check of few Mobiles till the culprit is arrested. It has become a farce to comment on important issues. In media also the word "comment " must delete. They should not give any chance to comment.

The first false news was of gas leak, the blast occurred below a wash area, now has anyone seen gas cylinders kept below a washbasin in any hotel, it is really absurd to say it was a gas leak. The pressure cooker bomber of Mangalore would not have planned it without support of locals, have the sleeper cells of Mangalore been destroyed, it does not seem so. No politics ,no religion should be brought in picture, India comes first.
