Mangaluru: Missing PhD student Chaitra may have gone abroad

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Mar 3: The case of missing PhD research student Chaitra, from a private college in Deralkatte, has taken a new turn, with indications that Chaitra has gone abroad. Her friend Shahrukh has been taken into custody by the police from Madhya Pradesh and is currently under investigation.

It has been revealed that Chaitra, who is suspected to have gone abroad, left voluntarily and is expected to inform the Mangaluru police commissioner about her whereabouts on Monday through the Indian embassy abroad.

Chaitra left her rented house in Madoor on a scooter on February 17, leaving the scooter in Surathkal, and subsequently went missing. Initially treated as a standard missing person case, the police intensified their investigation when Hindu organizations alleged the involvement of a drug peddler, a foreign youth, in Chaitra's disappearance.

Based on her mobile location, the police confirmed that she had gone to Bengaluru. Additionally, CCTV footage showed her disembarking from a bus at Majestic, leading the police to focus their search in Bengaluru. As part of the ongoing investigation, a team from Ullal police arrested Shahrukh, who was with a friend in Madhya Pradesh, on information suggesting that Chaitra had traveled abroad through Goa and Madhya Pradesh.

With the cooperation of Shahrukh's friend, Shahrukh from Puttur, who was in contact with the missing Chaitra, traveled to Bengaluru and escorted Chaitra to Goa. Subsequently, Shahrukh's friend from Kannur arranged for Chaitra and Shahrukh to stay in Madhya Pradesh. While in Madhya Pradesh, a young man residing in Qatar, a close relative of Shahrukh, obtained a visiting visa and a flight ticket for Chaitra. From there, Shahrukh sent Chaitra to Qatar via Delhi and returned to his friend's house in Madhya Pradesh. Sources indicate that Chaitra has most likely reached Qatar at present, where she informed the police of her voluntary departure. As Saturday and Sunday are holidays, there is a possibility that she will go to the Indian Embassy on Monday and provide a written statement to the Mangaluru police commissioner about her voluntary departure.

Shahrukh, being detained in a criminal case, is not allowed to go abroad. In this regard, the Ullal police arrested Shahrukh in Madhya Pradesh after he dropped Chaitra at Delhi airport. It is reported that he has been under investigation. A case has been registered at Ullal police station.

the possibility of drug affected behaviour is less, because every one knows that punishment for drug offences is very severe in gulf countries. She might have got a job offer in qatar through her friend and might have gone there for better money and better life. Her university professors / class mates might have more information on this ... she might end up marrying this man once she settles in qatar and she is able to sponsor visa for him ...

Mangalore to Qatar via Goa, M.P. and Delhi when there are direct flights from home state. Motive is suspicious, possibly a case of human trafficking with sinister intentions. Terror angle cannot be ruled out considering Qatar.

Dear John, mangalore, Where did you get your PhD from? Is your tea tasty, please share location, I will come there to enjoy the tea next time. And finally, can you educate all the well-meaning people like you, what does it take to get a PhD and sell tea? Last time somebody sold tea, he became PM.

KS Mayya , Mangalore/Bangalore If every one selling tea would become PM, then their would be hundreds of PM of India. Only a tea seller who has Masters in Political science with no records/college mates and also who used gutter gas by putting pipe in gutters and preparing tea and preparing tea out of the gas procured using stove can become PM and we have one and only you know who.

It is not sounding good in anyway. If the plan was to voluntarily go to Qatar, who can prevent her or for that matter, who will prevent? Why was the scooter rendered orphan in Surathkal and what is the reason for keeping the trip abroad secret. Why did Shahrukh hide in MP of all the places rather than come back to where he belongs after seeing off in Delhi airport? Nothing good ever came from Qatar and she reached there on a visit visa of all the places is another reason to suspect. And all of this will not happen without spending money. Flight tickets, travel to Delhi for 2 and visit visa. All of this also would have needed time for preparation also. After so many efforts, why keep the trip a secret? And what is the mid-PhD assignment that required a PhD student to undertake this undercover travel?

O MG ! What a mastermind. Whatsoever, all the efforts have gone in the drain. Kudos to our police and all those who have solved the mystery. Sympathizers offered prayers, moral support safe return. Only I had elucidated as to her hidden agenda about writing new theses. Mutual attraction can lead the couple ever crossing 7 seas.
