Mangaluru: Mount Carmel School fosters holistic learning for pre-nursery and nursery section

Media Release

Mangaluru, Mar 6: The tiny tots of the Pre-Nursery and Nursery section of Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru were immersed in a number of experiential learning activities that fostered creativity and developed a multitude of skills.

The little buds were engaged in learning through play where in they identified letters of the alphabet, colours, fruits and numbers and match pairs of flashcards too. Numerical literacy was developed through place value activities where children identified number patterns and their value.

Story telling is an essential means of pre-primary education. The enacting of the story ‘The fox and the grapes’ developed the language competencies and fostered a vivid imagination in the students. Adding to this, personalized masks and catchy action songs made the little ones the most enthusiastic and entertained group of learners.

Real world application is key to foundational learning. Our nursery students took on the roles of various community helpers through costume and creative enactment. Acting skills of the little ones were drawn out beautifully through this activity.

Thus the children of the nursery and pre-nursery section were engaged in holistic learning activities which they enjoyed to their heart’s content.
