Moodbidri: Carmel School celebrates Merit Day

Moodbidri, Mar 7: The school merit day for grades 7, 8, and 9 was a grand celebration at our school, dedicated to honouring the achievements of students in various competitions throughout the year. The short but impactful program commenced with a soulful prayer song, setting a serene tone for the event.

Glency Rodriguez of grade 8 warmly welcomed the gathering, paving the way for a joyous welcome dance that added vibrancy to the occasion. The highlight of the event was a mesmerizing dance performance portraying the journey from darkness to light, captivating the audience with its artistic brilliance.

The much-anticipated prize distribution segment commenced with dignitaries presenting medals and certificates to the deserving winners. Virupakshappa H S, the block educational officer of Moodbidri, graced the occasion as the chief guest. In his insightful speech, he encouraged students to be obedient and studious while emphasizing the importance of holistic development in academics and extracurricular activities. He took a moment to congratulate all the winners, inspiring the students to strive for excellence.

Sr Maria Gracilda AC, in her speech, beautifully expressed the qualities of loyalty and a sense of belonging towards the institution using the metaphor of a dog. Sr Preena AC, the vice principal, added her presence and grace to the event.

The chief guest was welcomed with a potted sapling by our principal, symbolizing growth and nurturing. Sr Preena expressed gratitude by presenting a token of respect to Virupakshappa H S.

Anvisha Menora Cutinha eloquently proposed the vote of thanks, acknowledging the collective effort that made the event a success. The entire programme was skilfully compered by Uvel Sachi Fernandes, ensuring a smooth flow of the event.

In essence, the school merit day was a testament to the school's commitment to recognizing and fostering excellence in both academics and extracurricular achievements. The encouragement and wise words from the dignitaries will undoubtedly serve as inspiration for the students as they continue their educational journey.
