MysUru, Mar 7: The Konkani Christian Association (R) Mysuru had organized SSLC exam preparation camp for rural government school students of Mysuru taluk on March 6 at their prominent Konkan Bhavan, Vijayanagar 2nd stage, here. It began with the singing of the state and the national anthem. John William D’Souza, president of the association welcomed the dignitaries on the dais. The programme was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries, H K Pandu, DDPI, department of school education, Mysuru district, Vivekananda M, block education officer, Mysuru rural and Yukteshananda Swamiji, correspondent, Ramakrishna Vidyalaya, Yadavagiri, Mysuru.
H K Pandu appreciated the social service of the association and congratulated the president and the committee members for organizing the reinforcement programme for the government school students of M G Koppal, Hinkal, Hootagalli and Yelwal coming under Mysuru taluk. He stressed on the duties and responsibilities of the students in school as well as the society. He enlightened them to ‘stand up, be strong and take responsibility on their shoulders to achieve success in life'. The association honoured the DDPI as a kind gesture.
The BEO, Vivekananda M, showcased all the facilities given to the students by the government. He inspired them to study well and come out in flying colours. He urged them to pursue their dreams with right mindset, right attitude and right approach as one can achieve anything one desires despite obstacles. He also wished them to do their best in the forthcoming exams. As a token of gratitude, the BEO was honoured by the association.
Yukteshananda Swamiji of Ramakrishna Ashram applauded the association for their selfless service in the field of education. He inspired students to be happy, brave and strong, not to shy away from challenges and take full responsibility for the consequences. He stressed the meaning of the proverb ‘sit like a rock and work like a clock’. The Swamiji shared a significant story of how the Swathi pearl is formed and to grab every opportunity of knowledge from the teachers to become responsible citizens. The association felicitated the Swamiji with Shawl, garland, bouquet and fruit basket as a mark of respect.
On the occasion, the resource persons gave useful tips to students in their respective subjects which motivated them to study smart and be successful in the exam. The general secretary, Joyce Sequeira, proposed the vote of thanks. Stany Lobo, vice president, compered the programme. The association provided lunch and light refreshments and also presented examination writing pad and pen to 150 students.
