Mumbai, Sep 29: Anti-corruption activist Anna Hazare, who had become an icon for the youth, has become net-savvy. After receiving rousing support on social networking sites for his fast for an effective Jan Lokpal Bill, Hazare will now be approachable directly on his new blog.
Not just a blog, he will also open accounts on Twitter and Facebook, which were a force on their own in garnering support for his movement.
Hazare said by being available online, he would be able to understand the youth better. "My voice has already reached the people through print and electronic media, and now I shall try to get comfortable with Twitter and Facebook too," he said in an official letter.
He further stated that his blog, which is yet to be launched, will be for his exclusive use to express his stand on various issues. No one can publish on the blog without his permission, he said.
The date of the launch of both the blog and social networking accounts is yet to be announced. Language would not be an issue as Twitter and the blog would be in Marathi, Hindi and English, besides being translated into other languages if needed.
"We take great pleasure in sending across Anna's decisions on his movement and non-violent revolution to people across the globe directly," said journalist and political analyst Raju Parulekar, who, along with Pune chief information officer Vijay Kuvlekar will set up the blog, Twitter and Facebook accounts for Hazare.
