Sullia: Sculpted tunnel-like cave discovered at Kalmakaru

Daijiworld Media Network – Sullia (MS)

Sullia, Mar 12: A cave in the form of a tunnel has been discovered during earth excavation at Kalmakaru in the taluk.

The tunnel was unearthed on a rubber farm owned by Bilimale Umesh while he was clearing the land for forest cultivation.

It was revealed when the bushes covering it were removed.

Shaped like a large bathing vessel on top and extending six feet in depth, the tunnel appears to be sculpted. There are suspicions that it may have served as a hiding place in ancient times.
