Kaup: Accused arrested in bag snatching incident; cash, other items seized

Kaup, Mar 12: Police arrested the individual who snatched a bag containing Rs 1.25 lac from a line salesman near Kaup Marigudi.

According to details, Umesh Prabhu, a resident of Santhekatte and employed as a line salesman, was walking towards Kaup Marigudi as usual with a bag containing Rs 1.25 lac in cash that he had collected from the sale of goods on March 2. The accused, Santhosh Kumar, arrived at the scene on his two-wheeler, snatched the bag from Umesh Prabhu, and fled. A case regarding this incident was filed at the Kaup police station.

The Kaup police arrested the accused, Santhosh Kumar (28), a resident of Fisheries Road in Kaup. Upon apprehension, the authorities confiscated Rs 100,200 in cash, along with a mobile phone and a two-wheeler belonging to the accused.

Purushottam PSI, Praveen Kumar, Narayana, and Rajesh, under the guidance of the CI of Kaup, were involved in the operation. Dr Arun, the SP of the district, commended the team for their swift action.
