Udupi, Mar 13: Pramod Madhwaraj, a prominent contender for the BJP ticket in the Udupi-Chikkamagaluru constituency, expressed his gratitude to all his supporters and well-wishers following the announcement of the party's official candidate.

In a recent tweet from his official account, Pramod congratulated Kota Srinivas Poojary on being selected as the party's candidate and pledged to continue working for the BJP as per the party's directives during the election.

Pramod Madhwaraj was among the strong aspirants for the BJP ticket in the Udupi-Chikkamagaluru constituency.

    Looking previous statements of Madhwaraj while he was in Congress he has lost all his respect in Udupi. He had sweared that he will not leave Congress. Now he can not leave BJP or else ED will visit him.

    Probably his statements against the saffron party which he made in the past are haunting him now badly. Nobody cares him in congress, lost election in JDS and here he did not get the ticket.

    Pramod and JP Hegde both enjoyed the perks in congress and shifted to BJP for their selfish motto. Now JP Hegde has switched back as he was not in lime light opposing minorities or congress as he was clever and understood the situation. Now JP Hegde is back and speculation is there that he will be the congress candidate for udupi Chikmanglore. Does he deserves our vote, what is the gaurantee he will not switch over again, during his tenure in BJP from 2017 to 2024 he is mere spectator whetehr it was hijab issue, issues related to street vendors in jatra's or any issues raised by BJP against the minorities, He is one who spoke loudly in assembly against hajjaba incident in assembly but sadly he has to compromise his ideology and share the stage with culprits of hajjaba. If he is going to be congress candidate and AAP will put better honest candidate I will vote for AAP or Shinanna rather then JPH.

    Good Stand. If he was in Congress he would have got the ticket but would have lost badly as in previous contest and also lost good amount of money that he would have spent. Knowing you, you will surely get good opportunity in future.

    Listen to the poor people... who got help from Shriman Madhwaraj ji.., they are in 000's...., a very kind & good-hearted person..., No wonder one day he may become poor ... but the reason going to be for sure.... "By giving/helping the needy & poor"... Madhavaraja is such a wonderful person..., (remember.... you may not find a person in Christian community)

    What else can he say to save his face. It was a blunder and miscalculated move to jump ship earlier and the situation is like the Hindi saying - जो कहीं का न रहे. His mother too had earlier jumped ship and was lost into oblivion in spite of doing so much good work earlier. Madhvaraj Family was well respected in those days. They have lost that love and respect by the opportunistic moves without sticking to the principles. Very sad for them indeed. For both of them, congress had given so much and raised their status to such a high level, but alas, they could not keep up this legacy.

    Feeling sorry for Mr. Madhvaraj. He was a very good candidate, well educated and clean guy. He has done a lot of good work in and around udupi, while he was in Congress. But his only mistake was to ditch Congress. BJP has left him No where. I feel he should re join Congress and wait for some time.
