Mangaluru: Nalin Kumar meets, greets Capt Brijesh Chowta on LS poll BJP ticket

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Mar 13: Nalin Kumar Kateel, the incumbent MP for Dakshina Kannada, who has served three consecutive terms, extended warm congratulations to BJP state secretary Capt Brijesh Chowta, the party's nominee for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the constituency.

In a personal visit, Nalin Kumar Kateel adorned Capt Brijesh Chowta with garlands, presented him with a shawl, and shared sweets to commemorate his nomination.

Speaking to media persons on Wednesday, March 13, in city following the ticket announcement for Capt Chowta, Kateel said, "Let us ensure the victory of Brijesh Chowta in Dakshina Kannada this time. I will strive earnestly for his victory.

An emotionally touched Nalin further said, "BJP has chosen Brijesh Chowta as its candidate for the Lok Sabha constituency in view of the next Lok Sabha elections. I embrace the party's decision to field a fresh candidate. I was the president of the party for four and a half years. I have been a member of the Lok Sabha from this constituency for 15 years and the elders of the party recognized me and gave me an opportunity. And the party workers strived round the clock and ensured my victory. People in my constituency have fully cooperated with me. I thank everyone. If tasked by the party, I am prepared to undertake any responsibility, no matter how humble. Our party has a tradition of identifying grassroots workers for leadership roles. The allocation of tickets by our national leaders is a thoughtful process."

"I have done honest politics in last 15 years. I have succeeded in bringing about Rs 1 lac crore grant for the development of this constituency. From then till today all the seniors of the party have ensured my growth. Today, the youth should join the party. The party's vitality lies in its ability to evolve. Embracing new faces is essential for our growth. I stand in complete solidarity with the decisions made by our national leaders", he expressed.

Irrespective of party affiliation , we have to commend BJP on this. They have asked the 3 term MP to step aside and make way for a youngster. This is how the future of a party is built. Congress has to learn here. They fielded Janaardhana Poojari even after 6 consecutive defeats. 30 Years down the drain. Then Ramanatha Rai and J.R, Lobo even after losing comprehensively the last time. Not sure what the strategy is.
