Mangaluru, Mar 14: Srinivas Institute of Technology's Women’s Cell organized Women’s Day celebration on March 14. Dr Sahana G, department of obstetrics and gynaecology, Sharadha Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital Talapady was the chief guest.

Dr, Shrinivasa Mayya D, principal, Srinivas Institute of Technology presided over the function. Dr Shrinivas Mayya D in his presidential address spoke about the importance of women empowerment and the roles and responsibility of women in the society.

Dr Veena Santhosh Rai, coordinator women’s cell welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guest. Formal function was followed by a special lecture by on, Dr Shanan ‘Essential gynaecological insights for women’.

The students from all the branches of engineering, MBA and MCA participated in the   programme. Prof Chaithra Kedilaya, assistant professor from department of computer science proposed a vote of thanks.
