Teacher strips class 8 girl in Bagalkot on theft charges, student ends life

Daijiworld Media Network – Bagalkot (MS)

Bagalkot, Mar 17: A girl, studying in eighth standard, killed herself at Kadampura village of the district as her teacher stripped her clothes off accusing the girl of committing a theft. This shocking incident occurred on March 15.

The girl Divya Barakera ended her life by hanging herself. Teachers Jayashree Mishrikoti and K H Mujawar are accused of sexually harassing the deceased girl.

According to a complaint filed with the local police station, Jayashree, who teaches Kannada subject in the Kadampur school said that she had lost Rs 2,000 and so she wanted to know who had stolen the money. Though Divya took oath in front of Goddess Durga that she had not stolen the money she was stripped off her clothes and bodily frisked. This caused mental trauma to the girl who killed herself upon reaching home.

Four students of 10th grade and a student of the eighth grade were suspected of stealing the money.

Divya's parents also alleged that their daughter was forcibly stripped off her clothes. As she could not bear the humiliation caused by her teacher's action she killed herself.

Bagalkot rural police are investigating further.

Oh my God.Girl ends life.Of course it is a humiliation to her even after she took oath in front of God to strip her in front of class .Still teacher didnt find money?Did she say sorry ?Or found elsewhere?Thank God teacher was not a catholic nun.First of all why did she bring money in class instead of keeping and lock up in staff room?Poor girl .may her soul rest in Peace. Now teachers must be made resposible for girls suicide. It should never happen again. If at all teacher should have taken the girl to side away from class room and searched ?File the case on teacher .She should be dismissed .As vedavyas had dismissed the teacher in Jeppu.Where are all these Politikers now?Speachless ? moralless?Heartfelt sympathy to the family.

Such teachers should not be given any mercy and should be booked under criminal and murder act. At first place, why did the teacher carry Rs. 2000/- with her to the class or for that matter her bag ?? Does the school was not providing lockers in the staff room. An innocent life is been taken away by the "so called educated teacher".

We are a superpower in the making. And the mental maturity we can muster in our teachers (some of those that I took lessons from belong to this category) is this. Let us hope that they will mature eventually before they become Shatahatena pandita. Complete nonsense from this teacher who should clearly not be one.
