Udupi: Will not rely on other leaders’ names for votes – J P Hegde

Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (JD)

Udupi, Mar 20: "Local issues hold paramount importance in this election. We must prioritize discussions on these matters. I will not seek votes in the name of any leaders; rather, I seek votes in my own name, should I be given the opportunity to contest elections," stated Jayaprakash Hegde, Congress leader in Udupi on Wednesday March 20.

He further said, "During my tenure as a Lok Sabha member, alongside Oscar Fernandes as central road transport minister, numerous road projects were sanctioned but remain unfinished. Addressing these pending projects is a top priority for me. The welfare of my constituents holds utmost significance. Relying solely on leaders' names for votes, breeds complacency, hindering progress. We must vote for those who deliver tangible results."

"Not all Bunt votes will be cast in my favour, nor will all Billawa votes go to my opponent. Our society is secular, and the opinions of the people matter most. Mere simplicity is not sufficient; substantive action is required. With experience in both the Vidhana Sabha and Lok Sabha, I leave it to my opponent to discuss their accomplishments. Throughout my political career, I have refrained from criticizing opponents during elections. Instead, I advocate for votes based on my own merits. Voters are familiar with my track record; there is no need for introductions.

"The party will announce the candidature this evening following our internal meeting to distribute responsibilities. Organizational efforts should commence at the grassroots level, with party workers assigned specific roles. We will also develop a constituency manifesto," he concluded.

Mr.Hegde, Heading reads " you wont name any leader" in your propaganda ? How you can name any leader, you are a jumper towards power. selfish man. Now in Congress there is no leader of National figure for you to name? Nor any progress congress made to bost off. You may do cast politics in your constituency which will not work . Bunts are for status and name both you dont have.

With all respect to Mr. Hegde, it is too late. You do not have sufficient network on ground to pull votes and you have limited time left. If you win, please give priority for water problem which is very critical and also for healthcare. Road and other things can follow later. Good luck.

Even though you gave weighing statement, it has no significance to voters. For instance people elected present Udupi MP on what basis ? People looking for only saffron, no matter what you do , you must hold criminal background and capable of breaking serenity of society.

I agree with your statements 100%. We all know that JP Hegde was very efficient MP for a little less than 2 years with significant track record. However he lost in the next election because of cheddy mentality and rest is history. He is also an opportunistic to jump to BJP just because he didn't get congress ticket and shamelessly comes back when he sees no chance in BJP. He still may go back to BJP after losing the election this time For 10 years the present MP visited the constituency whenever there were communal issues. Even as a central minister she hardly visited Udupi / chickmagalur to improve the standard of living of the voters. However she would have still won this time in spite of doing nothing. Now onwards she will not come to Udupi and she will visit Bengaluru on the way to Yeddy's house and whenever there is communal divide to add fuel to it. In spite of knowing this perfectly She will still will win the elections this time
