New Delhi, Oct 1 (IANS): General Motors India Saturday reported an increase of 17.35 percent in sales at 10,112 units sold during September as against 8,617 units during the same period of the previous financial year.
"The growth was primarily driven by the recently launched most fuel efficient vehicle Chevrolet Beat Diesel," said P. Balendran, vice president, General Motors India.
"We remain committed to fully leveraging our resources to offer customers across the country best-in-class products and services that meet their unique needs. But the market continues to be sluggish due to repeated hike in interest rates and rising fuel prices, which is creating tremendous pressure in the automobile market," he added.
The September sales comprised 5,261 units of Chevrolet Beat, 1,789 units of Chevrolet Tavera, 1,603 units of Chevrolet Spark, 814 units of the Chevrolet Cruze, 325 units of Chevrolet Optra, 192 Units of Chevrolet Aveo and 128 units of the Chevrolet Captiva.
