Udupi, Mar 23: The graduation day ceremony of the kindergarten section of the St Mary's English medium school (CBSE), Kannarpady was held on Saturday March 23.

Dr Akshatha N Rao,  gynaecologist of CSI Lombard Memorial Hospital Udupi was the chief guest for the programme. Principal Fr Johnson Sequeira declared the graduation day open.

In her address Dr Akshatha N Rao said, "This whole year is the foundation for the future. They have learnt about friendship, responsibility and staying away from the parents and to co-operate with each other. The foundation which is built here is what matters the most. Today these students are just tiny tots, but gradually they will be leaders growing. We have to thank the teachers who have trained them very well. For parents, it is very emotional to leave the children but your children have been trained under the best teachers to do their best. I wish all the best to all the kids, always trust your abilities and always ask for help when needed."

In his presidential address correspondent Fr Charles Menezes said, "All the children are looking gracious today. It's the first milestone. Now you will be more responsible students. As parents you are lucky your children are trained here and have transformed themselves. I thank the principal and vice principal for their service to these kids. I thank all the teachers for their training to the kids. St Mary's is growing big. Children are a great gift from God. What we are teaching to the children is very important. As parents raise your children with values.”

Various cultural programme was also presented by the teachers and fellow students. The students were felicitated with graduation certificates.

Dr Akshatha N Rao was also honoured on the occasion by the school. Neil, Suveen, Azba expressed the words of gratitude. Rajashree, kindergarten coordinator introduced the guests to the gathering.

Maxim D’Souza, vice president parish pastoral committee Dr Col Arthur Rodrigues, secretary Rita Quadrous, vice principal was present. Aditya, Samanvi, Yuktha, Ridhan of LKG compered the programme. Riza and Fahad welcomed the gathering. Vote of thanks was proposed by Ishika and Rishon.
