Bengaluru, Mar 24: JDS leader and former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy returned to his home in Bengaluru on Sunday after undergoing successful heart procedure at the Apollo Hospitals in Chennai on March 21.

This is the third time that Kumaraswamy has undergone heart surgery. The first time was in 2007 and next in 2017.

Kumaraswamy underwent Transcatheter Arotic Valve Implatantation (TAVI), a non-surgical procedure, which was deemed necessary as the JDS leader had developed restenosis due to the degeneration of the tissue valve.

After returning home in Bengaluru, Kumaraswamy briefly addressed thousands of his well-wishers, who had assembled near his JP Nagar residence from the first floor of the balcony. He told the supporters that he has been advised by his doctors not to strain himself too much nor talk much and take complete rest for few days.
