Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Cong candidate J P Hegde dismisses controversy over misinterpreted statements

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (JD)

Udupi, Mar 25: "I have not even taken his name,” stated Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Congress candidate K Jayaprakash Hegde, addressing the recent misinterpreted statements attributed to him that have stirred controversy.

Speaking exclusively to daijiworld.com on Monday March 25, Hegde clarified, "I find myself in a situation where I am forced to respond to statements that I did not make. I refrain from repeating the remarks made by others about themselves. They and their party members are speaking about their own issues, not mine. This situation has had a negative impact on them and a positive one on me. They are revealing themselves. I have never expressed any feelings of inferiority towards anyone, neither in the past nor now, nor will I in the future. I have supported him even when he held a ministerial position. I am not interested in engaging in personal matters. My statements and views have been accurately conveyed by the media.”

Regarding the election campaigns, JP Hegde remarked, "We are finalizing plans for both districts. Numerous meetings are being conducted. We will collaborate and ensure that everyone's concerns are addressed. Vinay Kumar Sorake will also join the campaign once he resumes his duties as the president of the campaign committee. The manifesto will be formulated considering my development visions and the work I have done in my previous tenure."
