Udupi, Mar 26: On the occasion of Amrita Mahotsav of MGM College, a day-long national level symposium was on ‘Discrete mathematics and its applications’ organized by the department of mathematics was inaugurated on March 26. Dr B R Shankar, professor, department of mathematics, NITK, inaugurated the symposium and delivered the keynote address.
B P Varadaraya Pai, secretary, academy of general education presided over the function. Principal Prof Lakshminarayana Karanth wished all the best for the seminar. Retired professor Prof B Saraswathi, president of Mangalore University Mathematics Professors' Association Prof Surekha, and IQAC coordinator Prof Shailaja H were present.
Head of department of mathematics Prof Saraswati T, welcomed lecturer Vijeta A proposed the vote thanks. Lecturer Pratiksha U compered the programme.
