Mangaluru, Mar 26: In an effort to conduct Lok Sabha elections 2024 peacefully and fairly based on guidelines of the Election Commission of India, the Mangaluru city police commissionerate has been implementing preventive measures to maintain public peace and order within its jurisdiction.

As part of this, four detention orders have been issued under “Karnataka Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Boot-leggers, Drug Offenders, Gamblers, Goondas, Immoral Traffic Offenders, Slum Grabbers and Video or Audio Pirates Act, 1985 (Karnataka Act No.12 of 1985) (Goonda Act/ Preventive Detention Act), from March 21 to 25.

The four persons are Hemachandra alias Prajwal Poojary, 29, son of Krishnappa Poojary, resident of House Number 4-4A, Eliyar Site, Amblamogaeu Village, presently residing at Muda layout, Nehru Nagra, Someshwara Village, Ullal taluka, Dakshina Kannada district.

A total 17 cases have been registered against him in Mulki, Ullala, Mangaluru South, Mangaluru rural, Kankanady Town police stations limits of Mangaluru city police commissionerate and Bantwal Town PS of DK district.

Among them are 3 hurt cases, 2 rioting cases, 4 attempt to murder cases, 1 murder cases, 1 kidnap case, 1 robbery, 1 theft, 3 drug trafficking and 1 Illegal possession of arms cases.

A total of 13 cases have been registered against Nawaz alias Nawwa alias Mudipu Nawaz, 36, son of Abdul Rehman, a resident of Gousiya Compound, Near gousiya Masjid, Kairangala Village, Ullala taluk, DK in Konaje, Ullala, Mulky and Surathkal police stations limits of Mangaluru city police commissionerate.

Among them are 5 hurt cases, three attempt to murder cases, one kidnap & rape, two drug trafficking, one cow slaughtering and one cheating cases.

Aneesh Ashraf, 26, son of Late. Ashraf Veeran, a resident of 8-13-2017 veeran manzil, Karbala Road, Opposite F RChicken Stall, Kudroli, Mangaluru City.

A total 18 cases have been registered against him in Mangaluru South, North, East, Barke and Kankanady Town police stations limits of Mangaluru city police commissionerate.

Among them are 7 attempts to murder cases, 3 drug trafficking and consuming, 1 theft, 1 illegal possession of arms, 3 rioting, 2 assaults to public servant and 1 cheating cases.

The fourth person is Charan alias Charan Shet alias Charan Pal, 39, son of Raghuveer Shet alias Raguveer Pal, residing at Door No: 8-2-132, Manjotti Compound, Kulur ferry road, near Narayana Guru College, Mangaluru.

He is presently residing at G.G. Shet Compound, Behind Rajeshwari Bhavana, Boluru, Mangaluru.

A total of 11 cases have been registered against him in Barke, Urwa and Panambour police stations limits of Mangaluru city police commissionerate. Among them are 2 hurt cases, 1 rioting case, 2 attempt to murder cases, 2 murder cases, 1 kidnap case, 2 attempt to robbery, and 1 extortion cases.
